Dodge City High School Principal Jacque Feist spent her entire educational career as a Red Demon. Jacque retired in 2021 after thirty-three years as a teacher, coach, and administrator at USD 443.

Jacque graduated from Claflin High School in 1984. She went on to play softball collegiately at Barton County Community College before transferring to Kansas State University, where she completed her degree in education in the spring of 1988. She earned her Master’s degree from Fort Hays State University in 1995.

After graduating from K-State, Jacque moved to Dodge City High School to begin her career as a teacher and assistant basketball and track coach. She was named the first ever DCHS Head Softball Coach in 1993. She was named a Kansas Master Teacher of the Year in 1995-1996, and become an assistant principal at DCHS in 1997. She then transitioned to the role of the Head Principal in the fall of 2000 – opening the new Dodge City High School. In 2010, she was named the Kansas Principal of the Year.

Jacque’s impact on activities at DCHS has been both impressive and meaningful. She served on the KSHSAA Board of Directors from 1997-2003 and was the recipient of the KSHSAA Governor’s Award in 2015. She has served in leadership roles on numerous local, state and national committees and organizations. She received the USA Kansas Outstanding Service Award in 2012 and again in 2021. She was also awarded the Don and Cheryl Yunk Award from Excellence in Educational Administration in 2018 from Kansas State University.

Most importantly, Jacque Feist influenced the lives of many DCHS students, athletes, coaches, teachers and fellow administrators. She even trained up a few superintendents along the way. Ms. Feist has been a loyal supporter of the Dodge City Red Demons – her legacy will continue for many seasons for follow.

Legacy of Leadership – Feist will be inducted in the Ring of Honor at halftime of the Home Opener at Red Demon Football at Memorial Stadium on Friday, September 4.
